ANNUAL VALEDICTORIAN AWARDS CEREMONY AT THE MUSEUM OF BRONX HISTORY

SUNDAY, JUNE 10, 2012
1 PM - 3 PM
|
Morris High School, early 20th Century |
Over the past three decades The Bronx County Historical Society has been privileged to honor the valedictorians of The Bronx High Schools at an annual ceremony. This year the event will again be held in the garden of the national landmark Valentine-Varian House, on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
The Valentine-Varian House, which operates the Museum of Bronx History, was built in 1758 by Isaac Valentine, a blacksmith and farmer. This house has been witness to the history of our borough and nation. It is only appropriate that it continues that tradition as the site where we honor the finest students of The Bronx - all that is good in our society.

The program begins at 1:00 P.M. with entertainment, refreshments, hors d' oeuvres, and tours of the Museum of Bronx History. At 2:00 P.M., the awards ceremony will commence with gifts to the students and special awards to honor an educator of the year, a business person of the year and individuals who have supported the arts and humanities.
To run this wonderful program for our Bronx students, we need your financial support. We budget $350 per school's valedictorian and their family for their individual certificate and educational gift of ten books produced by The Bronx County Historical Society, about The Bronx and New York City. If you would like your name alongside the very best of The Bronx, please call us. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Contributions are tax deductible within the limits prescribed by law.
Thank you for your support.
