Poetry to a Latin Beat
An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe and His Cottage

December 9, 2011  -  6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
National Arts Club - 15 Gramercy Park South
New York, New York 10003

Come join us for good food, good spirits, and good music to celebrate the life and genius of Edgar Allan Poe, one of America’s greatest writers – interpreted to a Latin beat! An Afro-Latino rhythm supplied by noted percussionist Bobby Sanabria accompanies a Poe-inspired literary session performed by renowned poet Caridad “La Bruja” De La Luz.

This event, co-sponsored by the Literary Committee of The National Arts Club, is in support of the Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, its preservation and operations. Poe Cottage, in the Borough of The Bronx, is the last home of the writer, where he wrote some of his most soulful, and memorable works such as “The Bells,” “Annabel Lee,” “Ulalume,” and “The Cask of Amontillado.” With its restoration almost complete, Poe Cottage will once again open to the public as a landmark historic house museum and preserve an important chapter of New York's literary heritage. It is owned by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, operated as a museum by The Bronx County Historical Society since 1975 and is a member of the Historic House Trust.

Tickets are $100 a piece. To purchase your ticket(s), please call (718) 881-8900 or click here.
